About

A man in a wheelchair sitting in front of a computer. My name is David Kehler, and I am a 37-year-old resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I am an independent accessible web designer/consultant as well as a part-time court proceedings transcriber. I am also a physically disabled electric wheelchair user with a condition known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, or as it's commonly referred to, SMA.

In August of 2005, a young man from England named Alex Tew came up with a brilliant idea: Make $1 million by selling 1 million pixels on his web site for $1 each. Shortly thereafter, his "million dollar home page" became the stuff of Internet legends. This site represents my attempt at making a Canadian version of that concept.

The way it works is this: Advertisers (or anyone with a web site for that matter), can purchase "pixels" in 10 X 10 blocks on the main page of this web site to be used for the purpose of linking to and advertising a web site. Each pixel costs $1 CDN, and the minimum purchase is one 10 X 10 block. That's all there is to it!

In turn, I guarantee that this web site will remain in operation for at least five years from the date it originally went live. In other words, I guarantee that this site and all paid ads* shall remain in operation and freely available on the Internet until at least February 1, 2011**.

So for example, a $100 ad bought on February 1, 2006 would be guaranteed to run for the full five years and cost the advertiser less than $0.06 per day when you average it out. As you can see, that works out to be a pretty good deal!

Also, as the main page becomes filled with ads, it becomes a kind of unique "Internet travelogue" that's colourful and fun for visitors to explore.

I have a sincere desire to make this the best pixel advertising web site on the net. You won't find any unnecessary Java scripts here that lengthen loading times and/or hamper accessibility for visitors with disabilities. You wouldn't put a four foot wall in front of your business' door, would you? That's exactly what you're doing when you advertise on most other pixel sites.

Many thanks for stopping by. Please feel free to drop me a line, or even better, buy some pixels. And please come back soon.

I gratefully acknowledge Grade-Eh Canadian Clip Art for some of the graphics used on this page.
